Legal Unit

Trongsa’s legal system functions as part of Bhutan’s national governance structure, with local administration and judiciary ensuring law and order in the district. The district is overseen by a Dzongdag (District Governor) who manages administrative affairs, while the Dzongkhag Court handles legal cases in accordance with the Constitution and laws of Bhutan. At the grassroots level, elected local leaders such as Gups head the gewogs (village blocks), addressing community issues and minor disputes. This structure reflects Bhutan’s blend of traditional governance and modern legal principles, promoting justice and public service within the cultural context of Trongsa.
