Dasho Wangdi Gyeltshen Dzongda, Trongsa Dzongkhag

Trongsa Dzongkhag is located in central Bhutan and is characterized by rugged terrain, deep valleys, and high mountain ranges. The district is bisected by the Mangde Chhu river, which flows through steep gorges and lush forested hills. Its elevation ranges from about 800 meters to over 4,800 meters, resulting in diverse climates—from warm subtropical zones to cool alpine areas. This varied landscape supports rich biodiversity and offers scenic views, making it one of Bhutan’s most geographically striking regions.

Trongsa Dzongkhag covers an area of approximately 4,029.03 square kilometers (as of 2018), making it one of the larger districts in Bhutan.
